Can someone help me understand them?
About 10 days ago I made a large order for a couple hundred dollars on Ali for several items. I selected PayPal paying for as my payment method. After the checkout process I was charged the full amount by paypal. I contacted their customer service and they told me something along the lines of maybe PayPal took the full amount in holding but will only actually take the installment amount from my bank? Anyway, I was charged the entire price all at once, which hurt a bit. I contacted AE customer service and provided screenshots of my order, my PayPal history, and my bank account. They said they would escalate it to another team.
The next day I get this cryptic message. "When the installment payment method is selected, the full payment information you see is the frozen record of the amount corresponding to the order, not the actual deduction."
Does anybody know what the hell that means? I've asked them to clarify and they just say the same thing. I'm pretty sure they're telling me that I did something wrong but I don't know what.
It's ok now, I toughed it out. I just want to understand what they mean. They send me the same message everyday now because I keep asking what happened. I'm hoping to prevent it in the future, otherwise I can't order through AE anymore
