Unpleasant experience with AE
Canadian here (prices in CAD). I’ve been using AliExpress for a while, mostly for small stuff, though I’ve made a few $100+ purchases without issues. This time, I ordered a car spoiler for about $530.
It took a month and a half to arrive, and when it did… • Multiple cracks in the spoiler • Only 2 brackets included instead of the 4 shown in the listing (2 per side)
I messaged the seller right away about the damage and missing parts. Their response? • Blame the shipping company • Tell me to “fix it myself” • Claim 2 brackets are “enough” (??) even though their own listing shows 4, making installation literally impossible
I told them this is unacceptable. Imagine buying a brand-new car and when you pick it up, there are scratches everywhere and the two back seats are missing. You tell the dealership, and they say: “That’s the delivery company’s fault, just fix it yourself. You don’t really need the back seats—the front seats are enough.”
I even tried negotiating with the seller. Their best offer? $42 so I could “fix it myself.” Are you serious?
AliExpress eventually stepped in and offered me a $120 refund. I refused—why should I accept a partial refund for something I can’t use at all? The item arrived damaged and incomplete. The seller should send me a prepaid return label so I can ship it back for a full refund.
And guess what, I actually know someone who bought the same spoiler from this seller—first one arrived damaged, but the seller replaced it free of charge. I thought they were trustworthy because of that, so I gave them a shot. Big mistake.
If you’re thinking of buying something expensive on AliExpress, even from a seller with good reviews—don’t. This has been my worst experience with them.
(@AliExpressCCO, if you see this, perhaps you can help me out, thank you)
