Google Wallet goes live with Visa cards in Jordan
Visa cardholders in Jordan are now able to use Google Wallet for the first time to make contactless NFC mobile payments.

The service is available at launch for customers of three local banks — Arab Bank, Investbank and Al Rajhi Bank Jordan. The launch by Google and Visa follows the introduction of Apple Pay in Jordan in January.
“We are excited to show our continued commitment to enhancing Jordan’s digital payment ecosystem through this partnership with Google,” Mario Makary, Visa’s country manager for the Levant region, says.
“Digital wallets are on the rise with mobile phone penetration in Jordan reaching 82.3% in early 2025.
“With rapid growth within the contactless payment market driven by the shift towards cashless transactions, this is another great option for Jordanians as well as visitors to enjoy the same seamless and secure payment experience worldwide.”
“Google Pay provides a fast, easy and safe way for users to pay with their Android phone or Wear OS device,” adds Ben Volk, general manager of Google Pay and Google Wallet.
“Users can simply add their debit and credit cards to the Google Wallet app and feel confident that their financial information is safe and secure when they’re making a purchase.”
