Tod’s adds NFC digital product passports to custom Gommino moccasins

Each of Tod’s iconic custom Gommino moccasins now comes with an NFC tag integrated into the sole that lets customers authenticate the product and learn about the origin of the materials used.
The move follows Tod’s introduction of a similar digital product passport offering for its custom Di Bag.
“With My Gommino, customers can create unique versions of the iconic Tod’s shoe, with each pair integrating an NFC chip into the right sole,” the brand explains.
“This chip highlights the origin of materials, production processes, and compliance, as well as key aspects of quality, sustainability, and transparency — ensuring the enduring value and identity of both the Di Bag and the Gommino.”
“Tod’s Passport certifies the authenticity of the products and is structured into different sections detailing its features: the history of the bag and shoes, a description of the selected model, the craftsmanship process, and the production chain locations — including material origins, production processes, compliance and traceability features.
“Through the Digital Passport, you can also access personalised support from our Client Advisors, who are available for any questions or information regarding the Di Bag and the Gommino.
“The Digital Product Passport can be accessed anytime by simply saving it in your smartphone wallet.”
“Following the success of the DPP for the personalized Di Bag, this initiative reaffirms the brand’s commitment to providing customers with greater traceability and authenticity,” Tod’s says.
