US orders being charged for Tariffs?

I'd like to aplogize ahead of time as I feel like this has been asked a bunch before, but when I searched here the latest topic about it seemed to be from two months ago or filled with confusion. Are most items from Aliexpress safe from being struck for the tariffs, outside of those shipped through Fedex, DHL, and UPS? Are these usually the choice items?

I need sewing and craft supplies that are 10 times more costly on Amazon and such for the same product.
