Who actually pays the difference when I use those crazy 60–95% off coin deals?
So I’ve been using those Aliexpress coin deals where you can get -60% to -95% off. Sometimes I even manage to get an item for just 1 cent, which is wild
But it made me wonder, who covers the rest of the cost in that case? Does the seller just not get paid? Or does Aliexpress pay them the full price (or part of it) and take the hit?
I’ve noticed that after I buy something with a really good discount, the seller usually lowers the discount percentage for that item or even removes the coin deal entirely within a few days. That makes me think the seller might be the one taking the loss?
If Aliexpress is the one subsidizing the deal, why would they care how much I pay and why reduce/remove the discount afterward?
Curious if anyone knows how it works behind the scenes
