Real Talk: Why do so many buy and then freak out over their purchases?
I have been a frequent AE shopper and I ended up on this sub sort of on accident. I have had over 200 successful transactions. This is not a lot for some, but it's casual shopping for personal use, I don't use AE for my business... though I know many need this outlet for their small businesses, too.
I have only truly had 2 so-so experiences in all of that. One, an item as shown as a set and I received one. The other, the seller did not want to ship the item at the price I bought it, obviously, and eventually canceled the transaction. I will even buy from no-name or newer stores, at least ones who still have good ratings. I tend to buy things that are found in multiple stores (craft supplies, toys, some clothes) and I can't resist the ones with better pricing and free/ Choice shipping. I will give newer stores the chance with inexpensive purchases. To date, every single thing that I've purchased has come (no fake shipping) and I have largely been very happy with my purchases.
The number of folks that come here after buying their items and freak out over lack of shipping updates, clearing customs, tariff threats and more is astonishing. If you are so convinced everything you are buying is a scam, why even buy from AE in the first place?
US based buyers: Are you happy with every Walmart purchase? Every Amazon purchase? Do you shop, fully expecting to get ripped off? I just don't understand it. Maybe don't make huge purchases without testing the waters first, but if you are going in expecting a bad experience, you are probably going to find one.
I feel like people on the fence with making AE purchases will come here and change their minds because of the level of negativity. Of course, happy people tend to post less, I guess.
