Why Bother With Alibaba When There is AliExpress?
| | I am not sure why Alibaba is still a thing when the prices on so many goods are cheaper to buy at retail or "business" pricing on AliExpress. I import a lot of bamboo paper products (renewable and high quality-no dust-up to 4ply) and keep noticing that even with wholesale prices in the 15-20c range, Alibaba shipping prices are ridiculous, as this example shows. I can buy (or arrange through a seller) large quantities split over multiple shipments for $1 each and get free shipping through AliExpress and save a fortune, even if I matched the Alibaba seller MOQ of 40,000 units. That would be $40k on AliExpress or more than $600,000 on Alibaba )$200 million by chartered air freight - I could buy the plane for that price!) [link] [comments] |
